Detox Tip 5. Helen’s Green Smoothie
Diet is so important when treating a skin concern or anything to do with your body for that matter. I can give you a wonderful cream to help make your skin healthy, but if you choose to eat high GI (glycemic index) foods, drink lots of alcohol and smoke, your skin troubles and overall health are not going to improve. You are what you eat and the same is true for each and every cell in your body including skin cells. Put good stuff in and you feel more energised and happier. Put bad stuff in and your body will run low on energy, you”re tired lethargic and a bit cranky. The same is true for the hundreds of trillions of cells that make up your body. A good easy way of making sure you get some good nutrients on a daily basis is to have a Green Smoothie……..
Helen”s Green Smoothie Recipe
This is a great way to get your serving of about 4 a day fruit and veg, and there is no cooking involved so you”re getting 100% of the nutrients from the fruit and veg.
Green Smoothie 1 serving
1 apple chopped skin on
1 kiwi chopped skin off
1/8 pineapple chopped
1/8 melon chopped
1/4 carrot grated
1 handful spinach
1 handful silver beet
4 mint leaves
1 cup of water
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend. Easy!
I tend to chop everything up at once and pack it into those small tightly sealed boxes. I get about 4 days worth ready then you can just chuck it into the blender in the morning if you”re in a rush. Or you could make a whole bottle up and keep it in the fridge.Probably last 2-3 days. Enjoy!
